While it is indeed possible to use spore models using the tutorial the texturing issues and the amount of Vertices, it has over 4 times as many as a normal civ4 unit, might make it difficult to do much with the models in civ4 without decimating which would render their textures useless. It looks almost exactly like it did in spore which is goodĪ few things I have learned from doing all of this is that spore is not really a good game to get models for civ4 from. Wait 5 seconds and click on the blue ‘download now’ button. Click the Download button below and you will be redirected to UploadHaven. After that there were still some holes in the texture so I just manually filled them in and then just used TeamColor to take care of the rest. While Spore is a single-player game, your creations are automatically shared with other players providing a limitless number of worlds to explore and play. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the texture files to appropriately in civ4 so I had to take the diffuse texture into GIMP and virtually remove the alpha opacity. It was indeed possible and not overly complicated, mainly because I already had experience with blender/nifskope. After finding it again and seeing that no one seemed to make any spore units for civ 4 I decided to go ahead and give it a try to see if it was even possible. Then start a new game (starting at the creature stage) and then you can select that creature to use (as long as you have all of its parts).I read this thread awhile ago before I started doing stuff with unit art. You can use downloaded creatures in the creature stage if you press ctrl+shift+c and then type in "evoadvantage" (no quotations) in the box that appears (press ctrl+shift+c again to close the box). You can use these creations in the game as long as you have that creature's parts.
